What Foods You Should Avoid That Cause Cracked Teeth

You know that choosing healthy foods can help your body stay healthy and strong. Similarly, you may know that choosing the right foods can help you keep your teeth healthy and strong, and that choosing the wrong foods could damage your teeth. It is true that certain foods can crack your teeth, but do you know which foods you should avoid?

There are several foods that can crack your teeth. Would you be surprised to learn that popcorn is one of the foods that are most likely to crack your teeth? Now, popped popcorn probably won’t damage your smile, but if you unknowingly chomp down on a kernel, you could easily damage your teeth.

If you were surprised to learn that popcorn could crack your teeth, would you also be surprised to learn that breads can hurt your teeth, too? Of course, if the bread you’re eating isn’t hard, your teeth should be safe—but hard breads, such as pretzels or baguettes, could result in cracks or fractures.

Finally, please be weary of hard candies and nuts. Aside from sticking to your teeth, where they could cause decay, hard candies may hurt your teeth if you decide to chew on them. Nuts can also cause problems, especially if they have hard shells.

Having cracked teeth can leave you more vulnerable to infection and tooth decay. In addition, cracked teeth can’t heal on their own.
